Welcome to the VIRTUAL POSE ® VINTAGE Collection 3
On Monday February 7, 2000, 11:00 A.M., and almost one year after the release of Virtual Pose ® 1, a photo shoot would take place — thus ending a long hibernation brought on by the fact that using film was simply too costly and technically-challenging. And although film offered (at the time) the kind of image resolution and operational speed that was unmatched by the digital cameras of the day — and putting aside the issue of time and cost pertaining to scanning each frame, clean-up, and image registration to achieve a reasonably smooth QTVR rotation— there was still a bigger problem looming: The computers of the day were simply unable to handle QTVR movies of a particular size.
However, with the advent of the newer machines, and despite the fact that Digital Photography was still (practically-speaking) not very reliable, we scheduled a test photo shoot: after all, we still needed to submit a proposal to "Corporate America." We certainly had some issues and it soon became evident that we were dealing with tradeoffs. For example: traditional SLR cameras had lightening-speed when compared to digital cameras — when taking several shots in a row was concerned. Therefore, we found ourselves often having to wait a few seconds before the "32 MB Memory Card" finished writing the data. While in normal circumstances this aspect would not be problematic, when you consider that a model was — now — forced to hold a particular pose "a few" minutes more, the issue became a serious one. Add to that the highly unreliable nature of the color sensors... And to be safe, we had 2 identical cameras! And they both exhibited the same issue: for no reason, there would be color variation. Actually, and to be fair, there was a highly technical reason for that occurrence — as relayed to us by the technical experts. It had to do with the interaction of external lighting... phase shifts ... and all that technical jargon that basically meant the following: Either go back to using film or find a way to make it work.
Well, being that at the time the photo processing software was not as advanced, many of these images would be converted to Black and White format. Today, however, and given the newer and better technology, we were able to restore these images in such a manner that we can see them in their original color. Also today, we are offering this great collection of additional Nine (9) QTVR poses for only $29.95 (around $3.33 per pose). And you will also receive one (1) additional free pose.
